WHAT WE DO

Our Brisbane Branch has been active for many many years. Our strong point is our monthly Peer Review meetings. These meetings are held at 10 Moreton St Paddington on the last Friday of the month from 5.30 to 7.00 pm.

DIRECTIONS: Heading along Given Terrace towards the city, turn left into Dowse St then first right into Moreton St.

Presentation by CanTeen August 2011

Presentation format:
Peer Review meetings are based on a theme selected for the meeting and all members present at the meetings will be expected to contribute their own cases that relate to the theme.

One or more articles will be circulated before the meeting by email, and your client case will be discussed in relation to this topic. There will be a short written questionnaire to be completed at the end of our meeting. The reason for this change is to comply with the new requirements for CPD points for the Psychology Board of Australia in order to earn either “Active” CPD points or Peer Supervisions CPD points.

There will also be occasions when a member can present a case not related to the topic. This may be a case that you would like some help with, or a fascinating or a controversial case, or a case with interesting theoretical implications or an overview of an area you have a special interest or expertise. This is particularly important for less experienced members.

Presenting to our peers can be a daunting experience, particularly for newer members. A lot of support is given by our members. Members are encouraged to provide feedback to the presenters in a friendly, constructive manner.

Visitors to our meetings:
Psychologists who are not members of the ACP are welcome to attend Peer Review meetings as a visitor. Any visitor attending a meeting will be asked to pay a fee of $15 to cover administration costs.

Visitors who wish to join our wonderful organisation should contact the Branch Membership Secretary or visit our Website www.accp.org.au to apply for membership.
